The idea of Chastity House originated in 1995 when one mother who was passionate about her daughter's future and surroundings took up the mantle to make a difference. After witnessing a vast amount of teens getting pregnant, engaging in sexual activity and having abortions as young as 13 years old, some were diagnosed with STD's and engaging in relations with older men, sometimes married men, Dr. Ashby wanted to make a change in her community and she knew that all it took is one person to stand. Determined to teach teen girls the consequences of premarital sex and the difference between love and lust, in 1997 she took the next step and commenced a non profit and named it Operation J.U.M.P. (Just Using My Power) whose mission is to educate, empower, and provide valuable health information to teens and their families, and to enlighten teens that for every decision made there is a consequence---whether detrimental or beneficial.
